All Talk and NO ACTION

Well Maybe its me, after having 8 kids I can tend to just get plain lazy sometimes. LIKE tonight. I sent the kids to bed and I was grabbing MOMMY time on the computer. I'm absorbed in my own doings but I keep hearing giggle..run run..thump..run run giggle bang. YES that is the sound of children sinning when they are to be in bed. So I do what every lazy lazy mom does..I yell out to them..(HEY I dont want to go up those stairs) and say..GET IN YOUR BEDS and BE QUIET! Of course they just get quite but continue to run around and of course the sound escalates. FINALLY I get convicted for my Laziness and I get up and head up those stairs. I see kids left and right scrambling. Too late though they were caught. After I take care of all the problems my home is peaceful again. But it wasnt till I actually got up off my lazy fanny and did something did it happen. THEN realizing how much stress I just went through that could have been avoided had I just taken care of the problem before it was too big.

I call it my ALL TALK and NO action mode. I guess it happens a lot because I have a name for it. I find I do the same things in all aspects of my life. I find if I just get up and do those things..I dont have to waste my breath! Dont we all get into that mode? Sometimes with our discipline, sometimes it happens when were trying to lose weight, sometimes on our jobs and even in our Christian walk. My kids did not take me seriously until they saw me bounding up those stairs. And sadly this is just like the world. They will not take God seriously till they see him coming in all his glory and just like my children it will be too late. Too late to get under the safety of the blanket of salvation and too late to rest in the righteousness of Christ.

Isaiah 55:6 Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near:

Romans 10:13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

What about my Christian walk? Am I all talk and no action? How often do I hand out gospel tracts? How many times do I not heed the voice of the Lord prompting me to tell someone about Salvation?

There is a saying that goes around in Christian circles..if you were accused of being a Christian, would there be enough evidence to convict you. That is a bold way of saying..are you acting like a Christian? Or are you all talk and no action? Lets work on more action.

Wow, Jamie, that's great! How many times I do that with my daughter. One of my conference decisions this week also was to be a better witness for the Lord.
